Baby New Year Pops!

We have been so busy and took some time off from our blog this past week.  I did however make this fun Baby New Year Pop with my 6 year old yesterday using things we had in our kitchen! They are easy to make and lots of fun for the kids to decorate themselves!

Baby New Year Pops

Vanilla Wafers (we like Who Nu)
Jet-Puffed Marshmallows (regular size & stackers)
Black, Red, & Yellow Edible Marker
Mini Chocolate Chips
White & Chocolate Cookie Frosting (Betty Crocker)
Yellow Starburst
Tootsie Rolls
Chocolate Coins
Lollipop Sticks

Take 4 vanilla wafers and squeeze either white or chocolate cookie frosting on the back sides.  Cut a regular sized marshmallow in half using kitchen scissors.  Place the halves on 2 of the frosted vanilla wafers. Place the other two frosted vanilla wafers on top and let dry. Poke a lollipop stick through the center of the marshmallows. We added just a little bit of white cookie frosting in between the two just to make extra secure.

We used a chocolate coin for the bottom of the hat. We placed a Tootsie Roll in the microwave for 7 seconds and pressed and shaped it for the top. We attached with chocolate cookie frosting and let it dry.  We made the diaper and sash using stacker marshmallows and just cut them with kitchen scissors. We colored the sash using edible yellow marker and wrote 2013 using red edible marker.  We cut 1 vanilla wafer using kitchen scissors to make the hands and feet and attached them with frosting.  We made little fingers and toes using black edible marker.

We used white frosting and mini chocolate chips for the eyes.  We used red edible marker to make the mouth.  We cut a piece from a yellow Starburst to make the hair. We placed it in a glass and then attached the hat using chocolate cookie frosting.  Let it dry and you will have a Baby New Year Pop!:)

Here is my 6 year old with his Baby New Year Pop!

Santa Strawberry Shortcake

We had some strawberries we needed to use up so we came up with this quick and easy Santa Strawberry Shortcake!  This seriously took us about 5 minutes to make!

Santa Strawberry Shortcake

Mini Shortcakes
Strawberries
Edible Eyes
Whipped Cream Spray

Place the mini shortcake in a small bowl.  You can get the shortcakes in packs or 4 and they cost $1 at our Kroger.  Slice some strawberries and place on the top for the hat.  Cut out a nose and mouth.  Place on edible eyes.  Spray on whipped cream for the beard and hat details....that's it!

Such a easy and fun Christmas treat to make the kids!

Kitchen Fun and Crafty Friday link party #45

It's time for our Kitchen Fun and Crafty Friday Link Party!  We can't wait to see what you have been up to this week!

We have started our Christmas baking and we will be making cookies non stop until the weekend! We are adding these fun Rudolph Marshmallows to our cookie tray and we made lots of them! We broke pretzel twists to make antlers and poked one of them in the side of regular sized marshamallows. We dipped the marshmallows in CandiQuik chocolate coating. We poked the other pretzel piece in the other side and then placed on wax paper. We added the edible eyes and red candy nose just before the chocolate hardened.  Super easy to make!
