Presidential Election Pancakes

We thought it would be fun to make the presidential candidates for breakfast this morning since the election is on Tuesday! This was so fun to make and also a fun way to talk with the boys about politics.

Presidential Election Pancakes

Pancake Mix (we like Bisquick)
Dark Grapes
Stacker Jet-Puffed Marshmallows
Regular and Mini Chocolate Chips

For our Mitt Romney pancake we started out by pouring our pancake mix into a pan on low heat into a oval shape.  We made another small pancake to cut out the features using kitchen scissors.  We cut around the pancake to shape the face using kitchen scissors.  We cut 1 stacker marshmallow in half and shaped the eyes .  We used regurlar and mini chocolate chips for the pupil and eye brows.  We cut dark grapes in half to make his hair.  We cut strips from our stacker marshmallow scraps and put them on the sides of his hair.:)

For Barack Obama we made another pancake the same way as we did for Mitt.  We made this pancake just a little darker in color.  We cut out the face details with kitchen scissors and did the same for his eyes and hair.

Make sure to vote on Tuesday in this important election no matter if you are a Republican or Democrat!  We are so proud to live in a country where we have the freedom to vote and have a chance for our voices to be heard!  This is also such a great time to teach our kids about our great country!

I love to talk with my boys about politics and want to include them on what is going on with our country.  I also make it a point with them to have respect for whoever gets voted for president even if we do not agree.  We hope that you like our President Pancakes and hope that get out and vote on Tuesday!

God bless America!

  7. Thanks! Our lighting and some features made them look a lot alike, but we didn't want to spend too much time on them as my kids were very hungry!
