PB&July 4th Lunches

We had some July 4th fun with our lunches yesterday. We made this flag lunch using 2 pieces of bread, peanut butter, strawberry jelly, blueberries, 1 banana, and 2 strawberries.

We cut the rounded top of the bread off. We spread peanut butter in between the bread slices. We put our jelly on top into stripes. We left a square open on the top left side to add our blueberries. We used the bread scraps that we cut off for the stars. Cut the banana and strawberries into strips for the fireworks. Cut the blue berries in half and add those.

We made this USA rocket using a hoagie roll, peanut butter, strawberry jelly, blueberries, cheese, and a red Twizzler string.

We spread peanut butter in between our roll (you could use a hot dog bun or just cut a slice of bread). Spread the jelly on top into stripes. Cut a handful of blueberries in half. We cut the bottom piece of another bun to make the top and added our blueberries on top of that. Cut a couple pieces of cheese for the fire. You could also use marshmallows, cottage cheese, yogurt, oranges, etc... We shaped out Twizzler string into USA letters.

The kids had a lot of fun with this and I am thrilled that these lunches get them to eat blueberries!
